ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Parklex Facade

Finland Color Plywood Corporation is intent on supplying products manufactured in accordance with existing international environmental policies. This includes products made with timber from sustainable forests, and production processes that are minimally damaging to the ecosystem and atmosphere. Consequently, FCPC is pleased to offer Parklex Facade, a non-toxic composite panel made with 90% certified wood material.

Parklex Facade is an exterior grade panel composed of bakelite and wood veneers. The bakelite core is made from PEFC (Pan-European Forest Certification Organization) certified Finnish Kraft paper, which has been treated with non-toxic resins and compressed under extreme heat and pressure. The veneer timber originates from Gabon, the most progressive country in Central Africa for forest management.

Although there is currently no FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood from Gabon, the organization Stichting Keurhout, which acts in accordance with the ISO 14000 "family" of forestry standards, currently certifies timber from this region. African tree species vary in vulnerability depending on their country of origin; however, our standard veneer species (ayous and boak) have each been cited to be in secure or lower-risk supply.

FCPC believes in the principles of "green" forestry practices and wood production. By working closely with our factory, we seek to insure that Parklex Facade conforms to all applicable environmental standards without sacrificing the panel's beauty, durability and overall quality.
